We are committed to continuous improvement as measured by our leading environmental and safety indicators through the implementation and refinement of our Key Concepts of Safety and Environment processes and our EH&S management system approach. Our commitment to environment, occupational health and safety includes the following:   Prevention:We will follow standard procedures. We will identify and correct unsafe behaviors and conditions with the goal of preventing all injuries and illnesses. Our activities will focus on reducing or eliminating any negative impact on the environment. Accountability:We will hold ourselves and others – including suppliers, business partners and other key stakeholders – accountable for our own safety, the safety of those around us and the protection of our environment, as outlined in the publication of our Corporate Responsibility Report. Compliance:: We will comply with all environmental, health and safety laws and regulations and strive to exceed these standards whenever we can. Culture:We will provide a safe work environment, disciplined process enforcement and a framework for continuous improvement. We will define rigorous standards of performance. We will ensure that preservation of our resources and the wellness and safety of our employees are an integral part of every job and the first priority in everything we do. Training:We will maintain effective programs to foster continuous skills development and to teach, to motivate and to sustain environmental, health and safety knowledge. Investigation:We will investigate all injuries, illnesses and environmental issues to determine the root cause to prevent future occurrences. Integrated Environmental Management SystemWith manufacturing facilities located throughout the world, ConAgra Foods® has implemented an integrated environmental management system that is centrally managed at the corporate level and executed locally by leadership at each plant. This model enables ConAgra Foods to leverage similarities between plants, proactively communicate lessons learned, efficiently adapt to changes in environmental regulations and share best practices.


Compliance with federal and local laws represents minimum performance standards and ConAgra Foods challenges our manufacturing facilities to exceed the requirements through pollution prevention. We have adopted Lean Manufacturing processes across the organization, which emphasizes efficiency in all aspects of production. This methodology minimizes environmental risks by streamlining and simplifying processes.
Our environmental management program is supported by a formal Code of Conduct agreed to by all employees of the organization. This ethical standard provides a foundation for operating with integrity, a sense of ownership and accountability. The ConAgra Foods Code of Conduct includes specific language detailing expectations with regard to environmental compliance, committing all facilities to minimizing the impact of our operations on the environment.
Sustainability: Follow Our Footprint
The current focus of our sustainability program is synonymous with the two greatest environmental challenges facing businesses throughout the world: climate change and water. As a result, we are working aggressively to improve energy efficiency throughout our facilities and analyze our use of water to develop a comprehensive strategy for the years to come.
